Womens Clothing

Dresses, shirts, sweaters, jackets, coats, lingerie and swimwear are measured across from armpit to armpit, waist and low hip (approximately 8 inches below the waistline). Long sleeve garments are measured from the top of the shoulder seam to the cuff edge for sleeve length. Skirts are measured at the waist and low hip, and from the bottom of the waistband to the hemline. Pants are measured around the waist, low hip, and from inside crotch point to inside seam hemline. 

The following measurement chart is an approximation of current Womens standard sizing.

Mens Clothing

Shirts, sweaters and jackets are measured from armpit to armpit, with an inch added for ease and “give” if worn with a t-shirt or shirt. Long sleeve shirts are measured from the top shoulder  seam to sleeve cuff edge, all shirts will have neck measurement and any other details such as ‘long-tails’ in the description. Mens suits will have waist and inseam measurements, as well as jacket information listed above. Pajamas will have chest and sleeve measurements, waist and inseam measurements as well as any tag sizing contained inside the garment. Swimwear is waist size only.

Childrens Clothing

Shirts, blouses, jackets and sweaters are measured from the top shoulder seam to the cuff edge, armpit to armpit, waist and inseam depending on the garment. Girls dresses are measured from armpit to armpit, and waist. Hip sizing will be shown if the garment is fitted. Sleepwear and swimwear will be measured from armpit to armpit, waist and inseam if appropriate. Pants are measured at the waist, hip and inseam.

Accessories

Mens and womens hats will be measured by the circumference of the inside headband and any listed label sizing. Womens shoe sizes are the actual written or printed sizing from inside the shoe, and if possible, the actual measurement from toe to heel (including the arch slope) from inside the shoe. Mens shoe sizes are the actual written or printed sizing from inside the shoe, and the actual toe to heel measurement taken from the bottom of the shoe.

Childrens shoe sizes are the actual written or printed sizing from inside the shoe and the actual toe to heel measurement taken from the bottom of the shoe. Glove sizes will only be listed if they are printed inside, actual measurement will be of the middle finger length and wrist. Socks and hose are generally only purchased in their original packaging and sizing will be taken from the packaging, or actual measurement from toe to heel of the foot portion. Scarves are actual length and width. Glasses are measured across from screw to screw across the nose, and from screw to bend of the ear wire. Purses are width, height and depth. Jewlery, cuff links and tie tacks are their actual widths and heights.
